WWW.EATINEATOUT.CA 127 Malivoire M2 Small Lot Chardonnay 2010 - $19.95 This chardonnay is a slight premium ($2) over the regular chardonnay that you can get in the LCBO, but is well worth it. When you taste this chardon- nay beside the basic one, you have no doubt about the fuller body and depth of fruit flavours that the small lots shows. An opulent nose of pear, cit- rus and floral aromas. The palate is full flavoured yet fresh and balanced with excellent orchard fruit flavours and zesty acidity leading to a long fin- ish. It is an excellent wine to pair with roast pork tenderloin, grilled salmon or poultry. Malivoire only makes about 200 cases of this one and is avail- able at the winery only. Flat Rock 2010 Rusty Shed Chardonnay - $24.95 The warmer than average season has lead to ripe fruit flavours, bordering on tropical fruit. Pineapple, melon and white peach aromas and flavours are particularly bold on the palate. The oak influence is trademark Rusty Shed, with the subtleties of the French oak delivering sweet spices, caramel, toast, and traces of vanilla and cream. The wine is full bodied and has a good long finish. This wine pairs well with chicken, veal and white firm fish. Flat Rock 2011 Twisted White Wine- $16.95 Twisted has different proportions of riesling, gewurztraminer and chardonnay every year, but every year you can spot the influences of each variety in the wine. The 2011 Twisted shows its riesling influence through wet stone, lemon and lime aromas and flavours. Its gewurztraminer influence shows through in ginger, spice and floral characters. The smallest portion of the wine, chardonnay, is also evident with the peach and pear flavours that show on the palate as well as the round mouthfeel of the wine. This blended wine shows complexity and great acidity. Great to drink on its own or with sushi, sashimi and shrimp dishes. Malivoire M2 Small Lot Pinot Noir 2009 - $39.95 This Pinot Noir is their premium red wine and uses the best grapes from the three best sites. The wine is Burgundian in style and has the complexity and structure to age for 5-10 years. On the nose, you get strawberry, sweet cherry, blackberry, plum, tea, rose petal, and hints of pine and cedar. On the palate, the texture is silky and smooth, with raspberry, blueberry, plum, toffee and tea flavours. The layers of flavours continues long after you have swallowed the wine. The finish is long and lasting. Only about 200 cases and only available at the winery.
